DIY Pink Glitter Heart Shaped Glass Dish

I’m so excited to be posting this DIY tutorial today! It was so fun doing this simple glitter craft because it’s a heart, you can store whatever your “HeART” desires :), and it’s so sparkly and pink! πŸ™‚ So let’s get going on it right?

Okay materials needed:

Heart Shaped Glass Dish -Dollar Tree $1.00 Hobby Lobby $2.99 (They also have the star dishes which I can’t wait to do very soon :))

Modge Podge Matte –Β Elmer’s glue or any other craft glue would work great for the base πŸ™‚

Polyurethane Spray – Some kind of a clear glossy finish to coat over the glitter so it does not leave a trail πŸ™‚

Neon Pink Food Coloring – (Optional)Β I generally use food coloring on my glass crafts. I think it’s just my own little ocd thing πŸ™‚ If you are going to use food coloring, you also need a craft stick and a paper plate or some sort of container to mix the food coloring and glue.Β

Wax Paper

Sponge Brush or a Make UP Sponge-Β I’ve been using them both on crafts and I really like them both. The Make UP Sponge seems to give the glue a nice even layer so ya I like it a lot πŸ™‚ I would love to know what your input is πŸ˜‰

Heart Glitter Supplies

Lay down your wax paper over the entire surface where you will be working. Your wax paper will save all the excess glitter so none is wasted πŸ™‚

If you are going to mix the food coloring with your glue then go ahead and do that.

Once you have mixed the food coloring and glue apply the glue to the back side of your heart dish.

If you did not use the food coloring go ahead and pour your glue onto the back side of your heart dish and make sure it is completely coated with your glue.

Be sure to add a thick layer of glue so the large flake glitter will stick and cover more of the surface area 1st round.

Once your glue is covered on the back side of your jar, grab the glitter and start pouring it all over the back side of the heart where you just applied your glue. This is why you need to have the wax paper on your work surface. πŸ™‚

Once your entire surface is covered with glitter. Allow it to dry for at least one hour. Once dried. Apply a 2nd layer of glue and a 2nd layer of Glitter.

Allow 24 hours for the modge podge and glitter to dry and then apply a coat of polyurethane to the back of your glass so that no glitter will flake off. I am so happy I did spray the polyurethane on the back because the table which I keep this lovely on has no trails or scratches from the thick glitter flakes πŸ™‚ So gloss it up gloss it up! πŸ™‚ I hope you enjoy and any feedback would be appreciated! Also hope you are having a great day so far! Thank you for reading and for updates please subscribe to me and my Hubby’s blog πŸ™‚

Stay Sparkly,
